Albert Einstein said “True art is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist.”
To me art is more than an irresistible urge - it’s my passion. I’m compelled me to sculpt, draw, paint, tessellate, or write music every moment I can grab.
My art is a recording of things that have been present in my life. I have embedded my work with the world around me and it has developed and evolved over time. As an example: It could be a memory of our cow in the pasture, a memorable moment, an arrangement of objects and shapes, I know instantly if it’s something I have to make into some form of art. My hope is that because of this I am producing “true art.”
Hedy Lamarr, a mid-twentieth century actress, once said, “A good painting to me has always been like a friend. It keeps me company, it comforts and inspires.”
I hope that my art will become friends to my collectors. I hope it keeps them company and inspires them, but most of all, I hope it reminds them of the beauty that surrounds us in this colorful, gorgeous world.
